Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Keramat’s debate team had been sent for a Parliamentary English Debate Competition on the first of April this year. Our school was represented by Aiman Tasneem, Elya Balqis and Nur Amalina as the debaters. The competition was held in SMK Bukit Indah on that momentous Friday. The motion which our school seconded on was “Brain is More Important than Beauty”. The practices started a month earlier to ensure that all debaters would be prepared to accept any possibilities. The team was coached by Miss Izzah Azura Hamzah, an ex-student of this school. She was a perfect coach for she had participated in many types of co-curricular activities when she was in school. Even though the debate team did not win, this once in a lifetime experience is far more precious to be appreciated. Through the practices and the competition itself, the school debaters had found the courage to voice out their opinions, fearless to be wrong.
